The Facemelt |
Created using Adobe Photoshop in 2007. This piece of art began as a ball point pen drawing in a sketchbook. Then I scanned the drawing into my computer, and started using my drawing tablet to clean up the image and add detail. After a few days of working, I became obsessed with the project. I started working on it a lot, and I began saving each day's work separately in a new file. That way I could go back and see every day's work side by side, which I later used for many things, like the video and book below.
After the drawing was done, I had the final full resolution image printed on posters and on stretched canvas. Then, I went back and created a book with all the old versions from each day of work I did on the piece, creating a flip book of sorts (see other video below). And finally I have had t-shirts created of the image, which look so good it seems to have all been made just to be on shirts. |
